ADT Meeting Notes
Wednesday 04/11/09

Moving Forward Update:
- The September Steering Group meeting had to be rescheduled and will take place today
- Moving Forward have continued to coordinate the Mini Communities of Practice
- The Moving Forward Blackboard module is now available and members of the mini CoP have been asked to contribute their thoughts on their understanding of ‘what an independent learner is’.
- Interim Evaluation Report – feedback from ADTs.
- Need more engagement from Academic/teaching staff
- Student engagement is vital
- Focus of MF, seems to have been on facilitating/coordinating rather than development
- Should be more assertive
ADT Update:
- Continue to hold regular informal meetings with ADTs and also formal meetings with Jan Howden
- SEC busy with drop in sessions. The issue of international student fees still continues, which impacts on workload
Student Association Update:
- Student Summit is being held on the afternoon of Monday 9th November. Issues which arise, will be taken forward to the executive
- Sara Milne is currently working on a HEA funded project – looking at developing a teaching award at GCU. This is still in the development stage. Sara is working on the project with Sue Scott and this will eventually be run by students
- Radio Caley will be the first radio station in Scotland to interview the X-Factor rejects
